3.1 - I'm coming for you.

Remember when I told you about my impulsive decision to sign up for a 5K? Well I went a couple of weeks doing nothing about that. I legitimately sat on the couch, reading books, in all of my spare time.

Last week I decided that if I don't want to die somewhere in that three mile stretch, I'm going to have to start "training" or at least trying to get my fitness on and all of that. Jackson was still doing tennis in the morning and it was really hot so I decided my best bet was to walk in the afternoon, after Penelope and Lucy's nap.
So that's what I did. I went every day after nap, pushing the double stroller with both girls in it. Hilariously, the girls are much heavier than they were last summer (go figure) so I was not prepared to be pushing all of that weight for a mile. Needless to say my arms were KILLING me by the end of my mile. I guess I'll get an arm workout at the same time and I can't be mad about that.
My plan is to be comfortable with one mile by the end of July, two miles by the end of August, and three miles by the end of September. The 5K is actually in October by if I can do three miles consistently by the end of September I think I'll be fine. And to be clear, I am not running. I'm definitely walking because right now my rheumatoid arthritis is telling me absolutely not to running. Maybe eventually I can wog (walk/jog) but right now I'm working on a decent paced walk.

I think just walking a 5k is awesome - so go you! And yeah, I imagine pushing a stroller with both girls gives you an arm workout which is nice. LOL I'd be dying though.

Now days I can barely walk the length of my hallway, so 5k isn't gonna happen
