I feel that way about mine whenever people say we're made for each other, I just think - dude, we work HARD to stay happy. We don't naturally piss rainbows as a couple.
Thank you for always being so real on your blog! You're such a rockstar.
Tamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18410011779090085342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-33066322079098768042013-02-01T13:35:34.167-06:002013-02-01T13:35:34.167-06:00I put off having kids until I was 35 because I kne...I put off having kids until I was 35 because I knew all too well the radical change I would be in for & was not 100% behind it until then.

The shoved bfing at me too & it resulted in my oldest getting a 'failure to thrive' report at a month old because SURPRISE! when you have your appendix out 11 days after a c-section your body has better things to do than produce milk. But oh no, must offer only the breast, wouldn't want 'nipple confusion' to happen. Then my wonderful wonderful nurse practitioner saw me in tears in the doc waiting room, heard me out & said "honey, babies aren't stupid, let's get him a bottle for now. when you get home, each time, nurse on each side for 10 minutes & then offer the bottle. Your body will heal, he'll get fed & you can both get some sleep" Sure enough the kid worked it out & was both nursed & bottle fed for the next 7 months.

Too much pressure is put on on the vulnerable new mom to do what is 'right' when it isn't a one size fits all answer.ComfyMom~Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15645425225886356909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-11927864574370363952013-02-01T12:16:07.446-06:002013-02-01T12:16:07.446-06:00HOLY SHIT. That is infuriating!
Thank you for sharing this...a girlfriend of mine went through PPD and it was excruciating for her. It's like the red-headed stepchild, no one wants to talk about it because post-baby life is "supposed" to be all glitter and rainbows and there's this shame associated with it, even though falling into a depression TOTALLY MAKES SENSE with hormone fluctuations and the insane change that JUST happened to you. More people need to share their experiences so other moms can find the strength to get help!Ginihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10782428443084601342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-82503000091294065712013-02-01T08:53:25.186-06:002013-02-01T08:53:25.186-06:00Wow! What really throws me is that the doctors didn't believe that it wasn't getting better....that's beyond ridiculous!

I 100% agree with you about the breastfeeding thing. It wasn't for me, so I didn't do it. But, it certainly doesn't help matters when you are pressured by everyone to give it a go. It's like, leave me the hell alone...get off my ass. I felt that way a lot...gr.

You are one strong person for going through this! Thanks for putting it out there. :-)Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03771000454584967589noreply@blogger.com
