My daughter I think is close to how you are. I told her to go to the dr and get some medicine but she won't do it. I think we think that if you need medicine you are a failure at something but really you probably just have some kind of chemical imbalance in your body. Don't feel ashamed. You deserve to not feel that way. Accept it, get on the meds, deal with the side effects but your head.... it will be RIGHT !!!

sdallen825@gmail.comSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11048657960720088194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-56661416284781586112013-07-25T15:30:23.701-05:002013-07-25T15:30:23.701-05:00I have read your blog quite a bit in the past year...I have read your blog quite a bit in the past year or so, and what I have noticed is...you tend to run at full speed all the time. You seem to take on a lot. It isn't necessary. Trust me on this.

Your children don't need grandiose birthday parties, they don't need expensive vacations, they just need to know that you love them and they are secure. It looks like you give them that love and security.

Dial it back a bit, I think it could help.thotladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06877043721001181462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-32176969625737074482013-07-24T16:08:08.092-05:002013-07-24T16:08:08.092-05:00I'm sending you giant hugs. I tried to make myself snap out of it by telling myself that other people have it WAY worse, but then my therapist said the most important thing I have ever heard about depression. "Depression is not a contest. No one gets a medal for being the most or least depressed." My other favorite from him is "Given every experience in your life, you could be no one but the person you are today."Shannon @ Bungalow960https://www.blogger.com/profile/10775802999823325260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-45550983329035267052013-07-24T13:38:25.774-05:002013-07-24T13:38:25.774-05:00I agree with Ruth's comment about sugar. used...I agree with Ruth's comment about sugar. used to be so depressed and would call in to work for days or weeks at a time so I could just stay in bed, but once I changed my diet, it was like a 180. I cut out sugar aside from natural ones in fruits (but no fruits juices or anything like that) and have been eating paleo for about 9 months. SUCH A DIFFERENCE. I feel so good and am happier than I've ever been. I notice when I start to allow grains back into my diet I can immediately feel a difference in my mood. The past week and a half I've been eating a lot of grains and I realized I've been wanting to just sleep all day, have no energy, and am so annoyed and snappy with my husband when I don't need to be.

Depression is such a hard thing to deal with and everyone has it for different reasons, so the only thing to do it just keep trying new things. If it's medication, then that's fine. If it's a new diet, or sitting in the sun for an hour, or taking more time to yourself, then it's fine! Just keep trying to find the answer. =)Steffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14387523324618066104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3414435776825765041.post-22443344172429587842013-07-24T13:03:17.359-05:002013-07-24T13:03:17.359-05:00And all parents hate parenthood sometimes. When Kiddo was born, I didn't really feel anything either.
I've been on meds twice and in the end that wasn't the answer for me.
I get depressed when I eat too much sugar. It took me a long time to figure that out.
Certain vitamin deficiencies have been linked to depression or other mental illness.
I am not trying to make light of how you feel, because I know what it feels like to just want to climb in bed and curl up in a ball and never leave.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15051904118383493849noreply@blogger.com
