Book Review: The Billionaire's Touch

I'm telling you what- yesterday I had therapy and THANK GOD. It always feels like forever between appointments and right now my life is just.... it's really damn hard right now. The only good thing is that I've been a bit of a hermit and I'm secluding myself and separating myself from even my family and binge reading, sometimes in the floor of my closet with noise cancelling headphones on. That's what life is right now.

The Billionaire's Touch (The Sinclairs #3) - J.S. Scott

After a troubling childhood, wealthy Evan Sinclair likes his life orderly and controlled. He rarely gives in to spontaneous urges—until he begins a chance correspondence with a mystery woman who sounds like his complete opposite. She intrigues and amuses him, and the interest seems mutual…which is more than he can say for his current obsession, Miranda Tyler, the tough-as-nails, sexy schoolteacher who’s made it clear she’s not impressed—or interested.

Miranda finally has it all: a good job, friends, and the security of living in the quaint coastal town of Amesport, Maine. She even has an anonymous pen pal—a man she’s never met yet has bonded with almost effortlessly. The only thing unsettling her life is Evan Sinclair. The handsome billionaire is arrogant, pompous, and far too used to getting his way. Miranda tries her best to avoid him, until Evan’s steamy kiss turns her world upside down.

Soon their red-hot desire is scorching the sheets and has them both spinning out of control. But when secrets are revealed, will their insatiable attraction keep them together or force them apart? In J.S. Scott’s The Billionaire’s Touch, the eldest Sinclair just might have met his match.

While this is third in the series it really is a stand alone novel. We get little snippets of the previous couples but nothing where it would ruin their books for you, AND we also get a little information about Micah and Tessa, the next couple in the series, so that's kind of fun.

With that said, I have to tell you, this might be my favorite one in the series and I really enjoyed it start to finish, which happened over the course of one day. We have Evan, maybe the most intimidating of the brother's and it had been alluded in the all of the other books that he was basically the biggest jackass of them all and he absolutely lived up to the name here... but it turns out he has a really great reason he's this way. I can't give it away but we do know he had a rough childhood growing up and as it turns out, there is a really good reason, even if it is pretty heartbreaking. He connects with Miranda, known as Randi, but he doesn't really know it. They have become email buddies without know they are who they are talking to, and.... I can't tell you what happens because that's kind of the point of the story. BUT! It's really sweet how it unfolds and I just finished the book really loving Evan and really liking Randi even if she kind of made me mad for a bit there because she's kind of an idiot.

Overall, I'm giving this one a 4.5. The only thing I'm kind of annoyed about is Hope, Evan's sister. I don't think she will have a book (???) but we heard a run down of her story in the second book, but I sure hope we aren't going to beat this horse in every book. I'm kind of over Hope. In general I don't like it when an author tries to sum up a character's book or story in a few paragraphs, it's just annoying, but I feel like I might be in the minority there. Oh well. I definitely am enjoying this series so you might want to pick this one up because they really are quick reads.

Ohhh, I'm a sucker for a steamy read. I think because they are easier to get through. Thrillers and mysteries make me think and that's hard sometimes lol Will add this to my list.

I'm glad therapy went well. Sometimes it feels like a long time between my visits too. LOL I'm glad you enjoyed this one, and good to know it CAN be read as a stand-alone.

This sounds like the perfect summer read! I like that it's part of a series, but stands alone. I like books that are connected, but you don't necessarily need to read them in order. I'm on a mission to read more this summer.Noise cancelling headphones in the closet is genius.
